It is situated in White River State Park, near downtown Indianapolis. The zoo is home to a diverse range of animal species from around the world and features several distinct habitats, including the Oceans exhibit, the Deserts biome, and the Plains area. Notable attractions include the Dolphin Pavilion, where visitors can watch dolphin shows and interact with these intelligent marine mammals, and the Simon Skjodt International Orangutan Center, which focuses on the conservation and study of orangutans.
