Isla de la Luna, also known as "Coati," is a small island located in Lake Titicaca in Bolivia. This picturesque island holds significant cultural and historical importance, as it is believed to be a sacred place in Inca mythology. According to legend, Isla de la Luna is where the moon goddess Mama Quilla is said to have descended. The island features ancient ruins, including the Temple of the Virgins of the Sun, which was a religious site where chosen women, known as "Virgins of the Sun," lived and worshipped.
