The Kaaba in Mecca, Saudi Arabia, is a cubic structure that is considered the most sacred site in Islam. Located at the center of the Masjid al-Haram, the largest mosque in the world, it is the focal point of the Hajj pilgrimage, which is one of the Five Pillars of Islam. Muslims around the world face the Kaaba during their daily prayers, known as Salah. The structure is covered in a black silk and gold curtain known as the Kiswah and houses the Black Stone (al-Hajar al-Aswad), which is set into its eastern corner.
