Kōdai-ji is a renowned Zen Buddhist temple located in the Higashiyama area of Kyoto, Japan. Founded in 1606 by Nene, the widow of Toyotomi Hideyoshi, one of Japan's greatest historical figures, the temple serves as a tribute to her late husband.
