Kotosh is an archaeological site located in the Andean highlands of Peru, near the city of Huánuco. It is known for its ancient temple complex, which dates back to around 2000 BCE, making it one of the oldest known ceremonial centers in the Americas. The site features a series of terraced platforms and structures, including the famous "Temple of the Crossed Hands," named after a unique clay sculpture of a pair of crossed hands found within the temple.
