Kyaiktiyo Pagoda, also known as the Golden Rock, is a well-known Buddhist pilgrimage site located in Mon State, Myanmar. The pagoda is famous for its precarious position atop a granite boulder, which is covered in gold leaf applied by devout Buddhists. According to legend, the rock itself is balanced by a single hair of the Buddha, which prevents it from tumbling down the hill.
