Kyiv Pechersk Lavra, also known as the Kyiv Monastery of the Caves, is a historic Orthodox Christian monastery located in Kyiv, Ukraine. Founded in 1051 by monks Anthony and Theodosius, it is one of the most important religious and cultural sites in Eastern Europe. The complex includes an array of churches, bell towers, and subterranean caves that were used by monks for living quarters and religious practices. It has been recognized as a UNESCO World Heritage Site, reflecting its significance in the history, architecture, and spiritual life of the region.
