Lake Bacalar, also known as the Lagoon of Seven Colors, is a stunning freshwater lake located in Bacalar, Mexico. Renowned for its vibrant blue and turquoise hues, the lake's waters are a result of varying depths and the presence of white limestone on the lake bed. Spanning approximately 42 kilometers in length and 2 kilometers at its widest point, it is the second largest natural lake in Mexico. Lake Bacalar is fed by underground cenotes, which contribute to its crystal-clear waters. The area is a haven for water activities such as kayaking, snorkeling, and paddleboarding.
