The Lincoln Memorial in Washington, D.C., is a monumental tribute to the 16th President of the United States, Abraham Lincoln. Dedicated in 1922, this iconic structure features a large seated sculpture of Lincoln, created by sculptor Daniel Chester French, housed within a neoclassical temple designed by architect Henry Bacon. The memorial is situated at the western end of the National Mall and is known for its majestic columns and inscriptions of two well-known speeches by Lincoln - The Gettysburg Address and his Second Inaugural Address.
