Lorelei is a steep rock on the eastern bank of the Rhine River in Sankt Goarshausen, Germany, rising to a height of about 132 meters (433 feet). This iconic landmark is renowned for its natural beauty and the echo it produces. It is steeped in folklore, most famously associated with the legend of a siren named Lorelei who, according to myth, lured sailors to their doom with her enchanting songs and beauty.
