Louis Armstrong Park, located in New Orleans, Louisiana, is a historic and culturally significant public park dedicated to the legacy of the legendary jazz musician Louis Armstrong. Spanning approximately 32 acres, the park is situated in the Tremé neighborhood, one of the oldest African-American communities in the United States and a vital center for Creole culture and jazz music. The park features various landmarks and attractions, including the Mahalia Jackson Theater of the Performing Arts and Congo Square, a site of great historical importance where enslaved Africans and free people of color gathered in the 18th and 19th centuries to share music, dance, and cultural traditions. Congo Square is often regarded as one of the birthplaces of jazz.
