Mamula is a small islet located in the Adriatic Sea, near the entrance to the Bay of Kotor, in Herceg Novi, Montenegro. The islet is known for its circular fort, which was built in the 19th century by Austro-Hungarian general Lazar Mamula. The fort was used as a concentration camp during World War II by the Axis forces. Today, Mamula is recognized for its historical significance and efforts have been made to preserve the site.
