Mannarasala Temple, located in Haripad, Kerala, India, is a renowned pilgrimage center dedicated to the serpent god Nagaraja. Nestled amidst dense forests, the temple is unique for its extensive serpent worship and is believed to house over 30,000 images of snakes along its pathways and in the temple premises. The temple is managed by a Brahmin family, and unlike many other Hindu temples, it has a female priestess, known as 'Valiya Amma', who oversees the rituals. Mannarasala is particularly famous for its annual festival, Mannarasala Aayilyam, which attracts thousands of devotees seeking blessings for fertility, prosperity, and protection from snake-related fears and ailments.
