Matera Cathedral, located in the ancient city of Matera in Southern Italy, is a stunning example of Apulian-Romanesque architecture. Constructed in the 13th century, it stands on the highest point of the Civita, the original medieval quarter of Matera. The cathedral is dedicated to the Virgin Mary under the title of Madonna della Bruna and Saint Eustace. Its exterior is marked by a large rose window and a bell tower that dominates the skyline, while the interior features beautiful frescoes, ornate altars, and intricate carvings. Over the centuries, it has undergone several restorations, preserving its historical and artistic significance.
