M'banza-Kongo, located in the northwestern part of Angola, is a city rich in history and cultural significance. It was once the capital of the Kingdom of Kongo, one of the most powerful and well-organized kingdoms in Central Africa from the 14th to the 19th century. The city is recognized for its historical landmarks, including the ruins of the royal palace and the impressive stone church, São Salvador, which is believed to be one of the oldest churches in sub-Saharan Africa.
