The Michigan State Capitol in Lansing, Michigan, is an iconic example of Neoclassical architecture, completed in 1879. Designed by Elijah E. Myers, the building features a distinctive cast iron dome and houses the legislative chambers for both the Michigan Senate and House of Representatives. The Capitol is renowned for its grand interior, including a rotunda with a beautifully painted dome and extensive use of decorative plaster and woodwork. It was designated a National Historic Landmark in 1992, reflecting its historical and architectural significance.
