The Millau Viaduct in Millau, France, is a cable-stayed bridge that spans the valley of the River Tarn. It is renowned for being the tallest bridge in the world, with one of its masts reaching a height of 343 meters (1,125 feet), even taller than the Eiffel Tower. Designed by the French engineer Michel Virlogeux and the British architect Norman Foster, the viaduct was opened to traffic in December 2004. It is celebrated for its elegant design and engineering feat, significantly reducing travel time between Paris and the Mediterranean coast.
