The Mississippi Petrified Forest is a fascinating natural landmark located in Flora, Mississippi. This unique site features ancient trees that have turned to stone over millions of years through a process known as petrification. Visitors can explore the forest along a scenic nature trail that showcases these remarkable petrified logs, some of which are estimated to be over 36 million years old. The forest also includes a museum that provides educational exhibits about the geological processes that led to the formation of the petrified wood, as well as information about the prehistoric environment.
