Misti, also known as El Misti, is a prominent stratovolcano located near the city of Arequipa in southern Peru. Standing at an elevation of approximately 5,822 meters (19,101 feet), it is one of the most iconic and recognizable landmarks in the region. Misti is part of the Andean Volcanic Belt and has a symmetrical cone shape, which makes it a picturesque natural feature. The volcano has historical significance and has been active in the past, with the last known eruption occurring in the 15th century. Its slopes are popular with hikers and climbers, offering challenging yet rewarding ascents.
