Muthiyangana Raja Maha Vihara is an ancient Buddhist temple located in Badulla, Sri Lanka. It is believed to have been built during the 4th century BC by King Devanampiya Tissa. The temple is one of the Solosmasthana, the 16 sacred sites in Sri Lanka that are said to have been visited by Lord Buddha. The main stupa of Muthiyangana Raja Maha Vihara is said to enshrine a sacred hair relic and a sacred Mukthaka Dathu (a relic of sweat) of Lord Buddha. The site holds significant historical and religious importance for Buddhists and features intricate architectural details, ancient statues, and beautiful murals.
