Nalanda Gedige is an ancient and historical site located in the Matale District of Sri Lanka. It is a remarkable example of Sri Lankan architecture, blending elements of Hindu and Buddhist design. The structure is believed to have been built between the 8th and 10th centuries and features intricate carvings and stonework that showcase the artistic and cultural influences of the period. Nalanda Gedige was originally thought to be a Hindu temple, but later studies suggest it might have been used for Buddhist rituals.
