National Museum of African American History and Culture

The National Museum of African American History and Culture, located in Washington, D.C., is dedicated to the documentation of African American life, history, and culture. Established by an Act of Congress in 2003, it is a part of the Smithsonian Institution. The museum opened to the public on September 24, 2016, and has since become a significant cultural landmark. Its collections include artifacts, photographs, and multimedia exhibits that span centuries, covering topics from slavery and the Civil Rights Movement to contemporary African American achievements in various fields.
