The Nazca Lines are a series of large ancient geoglyphs located in the Nazca Desert of southern Peru. Created by the Nazca culture between 500 BCE and 500 CE, these lines consist of hundreds of individual figures, ranging from simple lines to intricate designs of animals, plants, and geometric shapes. The largest figures are up to 1,200 feet long and are best viewed from the air due to their massive scale. The purpose of the Nazca Lines remains a mystery, with theories suggesting they could have been astronomical markers, religious symbols, or part of water-related rituals.
