Nový zámok, also known as the New Castle, is a notable historical fortress located in Banská Štiavnica, Slovakia. Built between 1564 and 1571, it served as a key defensive structure against Ottoman invasions. The castle features a distinctive Renaissance architectural style and is characterized by its robust, whitewashed structure and six floors, each with gunports for cannons and firearms. Today, Nový zámok houses a museum dedicated to the anti-Turkish wars, showcasing various artifacts, weapons, and exhibits related to the region's military history.
