Olavinlinna, located in Savonlinna, Finland, is a medieval stone fortress with a rich history dating back to the 15th century. Built in 1475 by Erik Axelsson Tott, the castle was strategically positioned on an island in Lake Saimaa to protect the region from Russian invasions. Known for its distinctive three-tower design, Olavinlinna has been remarkably well-preserved and now serves as a popular tourist attraction and venue for events, including the famous Savonlinna Opera Festival held annually.
