Olsztyn Castle

Olsztyn Castle, located in Olsztyn, Poland, is a Gothic fortress that dates back to the 14th century. Originally built by the Teutonic Knights, the castle served as a defensive stronghold and administrative center. Its most famous resident was astronomer Nicolaus Copernicus, who worked there as an administrator from 1516 to 1521. The castle features a well-preserved main tower, defensive walls, and a museum that houses various historical exhibits, including artifacts related to Copernicus.
