Olumo Rock is a significant historical and cultural landmark located in Abeokuta, the capital city of Ogun State in southwestern Nigeria. This massive outcrop of granite rock rises about 137 meters above sea level and is renowned for its role as a natural fortress for the Egba people during intertribal wars in the 19th century. The rock features a series of caves, some of which were used as hideouts and strategic defense points. Visitors can climb to the summit via a combination of man-made stairs and natural pathways, offering panoramic views of the city and its surroundings.
