Örbyhus Castle is a historic fortress situated in Uppsala County, Sweden. Originally constructed in the 15th century, it has undergone several modifications over the centuries. The castle gained notoriety as the prison where King Erik XIV was confined and eventually died in 1577. Surrounded by a moat and picturesque gardens, Örbyhus Castle exemplifies Renaissance architecture and has been preserved as a significant cultural heritage site.
