Ouadane is a historic town located in the Adrar region of central Mauritania. Founded in the 12th century, it served as an important trading and caravan center during the trans-Saharan trade era. The town is known for its ancient architecture, including stone buildings and a mosque that dates back to its early days. Ouadane is also a UNESCO World Heritage site, recognized for its cultural and historical significance.
