Our Lady of the Rockies

Our Lady of the Rockies is a towering statue situated on the Continental Divide overlooking Butte, Montana. Standing at an impressive 90 feet, it is one of the tallest statues in the United States. Dedicated to the Blessed Virgin Mary, the statue was completed in 1985 and serves as a tribute to women everywhere, especially mothers. The project began as a promise made by a local resident, Bob O'Bill, who vowed to build the statue if his wife recovered from a serious illness. After her recovery, the community came together to fulfill this pledge.
