Palanok Castle, also known as Mukachevo Castle, is a historic fortress located in the city of Mukachevo in western Ukraine. Perched atop a 68-meter-high volcanic hill, the castle boasts a rich history that dates back to the 14th century. It has served various roles over the centuries, including a fortification, a noble residence, and a prison. Architecturally, it features a unique combination of medieval, Renaissance, and Baroque elements, reflecting the various periods of its construction and renovation.
