Pando, located in the Fishlake National Forest in Utah, USA, is a remarkable clonal colony of quaking aspen (Populus tremuloides). Known as one of the largest and oldest living organisms on Earth, Pando spans approximately 106 acres and is estimated to weigh around 6,000 metric tons. This vast organism comprises around 47,000 individual tree stems, all connected by a single root system, which is believed to be around 80,000 years old.
