Pendjari National Park, located in the northwestern region of Benin near the town of Tanguiéta, is one of West Africa's premier wildlife reserves. Spanning approximately 4,800 square kilometers, the park is part of the larger W-Arly-Pendjari (WAP) complex, which extends into neighboring Burkina Faso and Niger. Pendjari is renowned for its rich biodiversity, including large populations of elephants, lions, leopards, and a variety of antelope species. Bird enthusiasts can also enjoy spotting over 300 bird species that inhabit the park. The Pendjari River, which flows through the park, adds to the scenic beauty and provides a vital water source for the wildlife. The park's rugged landscapes, savannas, and gallery forests offer visitors a unique and immersive experience in the heart of Africa's natural splendor.
