Plaza de España in Santa Cruz de Tenerife is the largest square in the Canary Islands, located in the heart of the city. It was built in 1929 and has since become a central meeting point for both locals and tourists. The square features a large artificial lake designed by renowned Swiss architects Herzog & de Meuron, surrounded by beautiful gardens and modernist architectural elements. The iconic monument to the fallen, a towering structure dedicated to those who died in the Spanish Civil War, stands prominently in the square.
