Poitiers Cathedral, also known as the Cathedral of Saint Peter (Cathédrale Saint-Pierre de Poitiers), is a stunning example of Gothic architecture located in the city of Poitiers, France. Construction began in 1162 under the orders of Henry II of England and Eleanor of Aquitaine and continued into the 14th century. The cathedral is notable for its impressive facade, which features a large rose window and detailed sculptures. Inside, visitors can admire the beautifully preserved stained glass windows, some of which date back to the 12th century, as well as the intricately carved wooden choir stalls from the 13th century.
