Považský hrad, also known as Bystrica Castle, is a historic ruin located near the town of Považská Bystrica in Slovakia. Perched on a hill overlooking the Váh River, the castle dates back to the 13th century and was originally built to protect the trade route along the river. Over the centuries, it underwent various modifications and expansions, reflecting the architectural styles and defensive needs of different periods.
