Providence Canyon State Park

Providence Canyon State Park, located in southwest Georgia, is often referred to as Georgia's "Little Grand Canyon" due to its striking and colorful canyons. The park features dramatic gullies and cliffs that were formed by poor farming practices in the 19th century, resulting in deep erosion. These gullies now range from 3 to 150 feet deep and showcase a variety of soil colors, creating a stunning landscape. The park offers several hiking trails, including the 7-mile Backcountry Trail for more experienced hikers and shorter trails for casual visitors.
