Qal'at Bani Hammad, located in Algeria, is a significant historical site that once served as the first capital of the Hammadid dynasty in the 11th century. Situated in a mountainous area northeast of M'Sila, it offers a remarkable glimpse into medieval Islamic architecture. The fortress city boasts a well-preserved array of ruins, including the remains of palaces, mosques, and fortifications. Among the notable structures is the Great Mosque, which features a unique minaret and is one of the largest mosques built during its time.
