Qassiarsuk is a small settlement located in southern Greenland, known for its historical significance and picturesque landscapes. It is situated near the site of Brattahlid, the former estate of the famous Norse explorer Erik the Red, who established the first Norse settlements in Greenland around the year 985 AD. Today, Qassiarsuk is a key site for those interested in Viking history, offering reconstructions of Norse buildings, including a longhouse and a church. The area is also known for its sheep farming and is part of the Kujalleq municipality.
