The cathedral's construction began in 1786 and was completed in 1805, showcasing a blend of Baroque and Neoclassical architectural styles. The façade features intricate stone carvings and impressive columns, while the interior houses beautiful altarpieces, religious artwork, and an elegant dome. Originally a parish church, it was elevated to cathedral status in 1921 when the Diocese of Querétaro was established.
