Quiçama National Park, also known as Kissama National Park, is a vast protected area located in northwestern Angola, south of the capital city, Luanda. It spans over 9,600 square kilometers, making it one of the largest national parks in the country. The park is renowned for its diverse ecosystems, which include savannahs, woodlands, and riverine forests. It is home to a variety of wildlife, including elephants, giraffes, zebras, and numerous bird species. Quiçama National Park also features the scenic Kwanza River, which flows through its boundaries and provides opportunities for boat safaris and fishing. Conservation efforts in the park have been significant, especially with the "Operation Noah's Ark" project that reintroduced several species to the area after years of civil war had devastated local wildlife populations.
