Rano Raraku is a volcanic crater located on Easter Island, near the settlement of Hanga Roa. This site is renowned as the primary quarry for the island's iconic moai statues. The volcanic tuff found in Rano Raraku was carved into hundreds of these massive stone figures, many of which remain unfinished and partially buried within the crater’s slopes.
