Redwood National and State Parks in California are a collection of protected forests, beaches, and grasslands that span over 139,000 acres. Known for housing some of the tallest and oldest trees in the world, these parks are a haven for nature enthusiasts and hikers. The coast redwoods (Sequoia sempervirens) dominate the landscape, reaching heights of over 350 feet. In addition to the majestic trees, the parks offer a diverse ecosystem that includes rivers, streams, and a variety of wildlife such as Roosevelt elk, black bears, and numerous bird species. Visitors can explore numerous trails, scenic drives, and visitor centers that provide educational exhibits on the natural and cultural history of the area.
