The Rock-hewn Churches of Ivanovo, located near the town of Ivanovo in the Ruse Province of Bulgaria, are a remarkable complex of monolithic churches, chapels, monasteries, and cells. Carved into the cliffs of the Rusenski Lom River valley, these structures date back to the 12th century, during the Second Bulgarian Empire. Renowned for their well-preserved medieval frescoes, the churches offer a glimpse into the rich spiritual and artistic heritage of the time. The frescoes, which cover the walls of the rock-hewn sanctuaries, are distinguished by their intricate detail and vibrant colors, reflecting the influence of the Palaeologan Renaissance.
