Rötteln Castle is a historic ruin located in Lörrach, Germany, near the Swiss border. The castle dates back to the early 11th century and was once a significant medieval fortress in the region. Perched on a hill overlooking the Wiese Valley, the castle offers panoramic views of the surrounding landscape. It was originally constructed by the noble family of Rötteln and later became a stronghold for the Margraves of Hachberg-Sausenberg.
