The Rotunda in Thessaloniki, Greece, is a massive round building constructed in 306 AD by the Roman Emperor Galerius. It was initially intended to serve as his mausoleum, but it never fulfilled that purpose. Instead, it has had various uses throughout its history, including as a Christian church and an Ottoman mosque. The Rotunda is renowned for its impressive dome, which is more than 30 meters in height, and its rich interior decorations featuring mosaics from the early Christian period.
