Sacsayhuamán is an impressive archaeological complex located on the outskirts of Cusco, Peru. This Inca citadel is renowned for its massive, precisely cut stone walls that interlock without the use of mortar. The site is believed to have been both a military stronghold and a ceremonial center. Constructed in the 15th century under the reign of Emperor Pachacuti, Sacsayhuamán offers stunning panoramic views of Cusco and the surrounding valley.
