The Samuel Taylor Suit Cottage, also known as the Berkeley Castle, is a historic structure perched on a hillside in Berkeley Springs, West Virginia. Built between 1885 and 1891 by Colonel Samuel Taylor Suit, a wealthy businessman, the castle-like structure was intended as a romantic gesture for his young bride, Rosa Pelham. The architecture of the cottage is reminiscent of a medieval castle, featuring turrets, battlements, and intricate woodwork. Over the years, it has served various purposes, including a private residence, a hotel, and a venue for social events.
