Sartène is a charming commune located in the Corse-du-Sud department on the island of Corsica, France. Known for its rich history and medieval architecture, Sartène is often referred to as "the most Corsican of Corsican towns." The old town is characterized by narrow, winding streets, granite buildings, and a central square, Place de la Liberation, which offers stunning views of the surrounding countryside. Sartène is also famous for its traditional Good Friday procession, the Catenacciu, where a hooded penitent carries a heavy cross through the town, drawing many visitors each year.
