Shalban Vihara, situated in the Comilla district of Bangladesh, is a significant archaeological site that dates back to the 8th century. This ancient Buddhist monastery was part of the Paharpur and Mainamati-Lalmai cultural heritage. The site includes the remains of a large rectangular monastery with 115 cells, which once housed monks and served as a center for religious and educational activities. Excavations have revealed various artifacts, including terracotta plaques, bronze statues, and inscriptions, which provide valuable insights into the region's history and the spread of Buddhism in Bengal.
